If companies could, they would learn how to read their customers' minds in order to learn what exactly makes them tick, what would get them to buy, and what products and advertising techniques disgust them most of all, anything to be able to stay at the top of their field and edge out the rest of their competition. Because they can't read people's minds, they would have to settle for asking them directly, and one way they do this is by conducting market research surveys. Market research surveys get an idea what a customer's shopping habits are, as well as how much they spend for certain items. One of the ways that companies conduct these surveys is by having online surveys available online--and paying customers for their opinions. They don't conduct such surveys all that often, but when they do, they ask for quite a lot of information and really work to get the customer's ideas and feedback about the products they offer and how their services are.
